AI 🤖 Find me cards equivalent to: Squirming Emergence

Equivalent cards to Squirming Emergence (black-green reanimation for nonland permanents) include:
1. Reanimate (Black) – Returns any creature from a graveyard to the battlefield.
2. Unburial Rites (Black, with white flashback) – Returns a creature from graveyard to battlefield.
3. Journey to Eternity (Black-Green) – Returns a creature from graveyard to battlefield on death, then gives a reanimation land.
4. Revive (Green) – Returns any green card from graveyard to hand (less powerful, but color aligned).
5. Victimize (Black) – Returns up to two creatures from your graveyard to battlefield tapped.
6. Goryo's Vengeance (Black) – Returns legendary creature from graveyard to battlefield with haste.

All of these allow graveyard recursion or direct reanimation in black/green identity, but few reanimate nonland permanents as Squirming Emergence does. There are no exact equivalents in black-green/colors, but Journey to Eternity is the closest in color and function.

    Splice

    Rules

  • A card with a splice ability can't be spliced onto itself because the spell is on the stack (and not in your hand) when you reveal the cards you want to splice onto it.
  • If all of the spell's targets are illegal when the spell tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen.
  • You choose all targets for the spell after revealing cards you want to splice, including any targets required by the text of any of those cards. You may choose a different target for each instance of the word "target" on the resulting spell.
  • You reveal all cards you intend to splice at the same time. Each individual card can be spliced only once onto any one spell.
  • If the returned creature leaves the battlefield before the end step, it will remain in its current zone. It won't be exiled.

    Rules

  • If a card in a player's graveyard has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.
  • If any abilities trigger on the creature entering the battlefield, those abilities resolve after you lose life. If losing life results in you losing the game, those abilities won't resolve.
  • In a multiplayer game, if a player leaves the game, all cards that player owns leave as well. If you leave the game, the creature you control from Reanimate is exiled.
  • The amount of life you lose is determined by the mana value of the card in your graveyard, not the creature once it's on the battlefield.
  • You lose life after the creature is already on the battlefield. Any abilities it has that interact with loss of life, such as that of Platinum Emperion, apply to that loss of life.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Rules

  • Cards with the ability word "fathomless descent" have abilities that care how many permanent cards are in your graveyard.
  • Like all spells that require targets, Squirming Emergence will check to make sure its target is still legal as it tries to resolve. Use the number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, even though it may be a different number than the number that were there as you cast the spell. If the permanent card's mana value is greater than the number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, Squirming Emergence won't resolve.
  • Some descend triggered abilities include intervening "if" clauses (i.e. "if you have [four or eight] permanent cards in your graveyard" in the middle of the ability). Each of these abilities checks your graveyard at the moment it would trigger to see if it does. If you don't have the required number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, the ability doesn't trigger at all. If it does trigger, it will check again as it tries to resolve. If you don't have the required number of permanent cards in your graveyard at that time, the ability won't resolve and none of its effects will happen.
  • The target nonland permanent card still counts toward the number of permanent cards in your graveyard for the purposes of Squirming Emergence.

    Flashback

    Rules

  • "Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack."
  • A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.
  • If a card with flashback is put into your graveyard during your turn, you can cast it if it's legal to do so before any other player can take any actions.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.
  • You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.
  • You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card's type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using flashback only when you could normally cast a sorcery.

    Rules

  • As Victimize resolves, you must sacrifice a creature if able. You can't change your mind and choose not to sacrifice anything.
  • If one of the targeted creature cards is an illegal target (for instance, because it has left your graveyard before Victimize resolves), you'll still sacrifice a creature and put the other card onto the battlefield. If both are illegal targets, Victimize won't resolve. You won't sacrifice a creature.
  • The creature you sacrifice isn't chosen until Victimize resolves. You can't return the creature you sacrifice because it will still be on the battlefield at the time targets are chosen.
  • You must choose two targets. You can't cast Victimize targeting only one creature card.
