"Find me cards equivalent to: Summoner's Egg"

Equivalent cards to Summoner's Egg (Artifact Creature — Egg, colorless):

Similar/related cards (artifact, colorless, cheat creatures into play):

  • Dream Devourer (not artifact, but exiles cards for later play)
  • Panoptic Mirror (colorless, exiles and casts spells, not creatures)
  • Prototype Portal (colorless, exiles artifact, can make copies)
  • Mirror of Fate (artifact, swaps exiled cards)
  • Planar Bridge (colorless, tutors creatures/artifacts onto battlefield)
  • Soul Foundry (artifact, exiles creature card, makes tokens)

There aren't exact matches for the Egg's effect, but these have similar exile/play-from-exile mechanics and are colorless. Summoner's Egg is still unique for imprinting any card and cheating a creature onto the battlefield.

    Foretell

    Rules

  • Because exiling a card with foretell from your hand is a special action, you can do so any time you have priority during your turn, including in response to spells and abilities. Once you announce you’re taking the action, no other player can respond by trying to remove the card from your hand.
  • Cards that are foretold by virtue of Dream Devourer’s ability won’t continue to have the foretell ability once they leave your hand, but you can still cast them from exile on a later turn for the foretell costs they were given by Dream Devourer.
  • Casting a foretold card from exile follows the timing rules for that card. If you foretell an instant card, you can cast it as soon as the next player’s turn. In most cases, if you foretell a card that isn’t an instant (or doesn’t have flash), you’ll have to wait until your next turn to cast it.
  • If you foretell a modal double-faced card, the foretell cost will be based on the mana cost of the face you cast from exile. For example, if you foretell Kolvori, God of Kinship/The Ringhart Crest, you can cast Kolvori by paying {G}{G} or The Ringhart Crest by paying {G} on a future turn. If you foretell a modal double-faced card whose front face is a nonland face but whose back face is a land face, you can’t play that card as a land.
  • If you’re casting a foretold card from exile for its foretell cost, you can’t choose to cast it for any other alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast the spell.
  • It doesn’t matter if Dream Devourer is still on the battlefield or still under your control as you cast the spell from exile.
  • The last ability triggers when you exile a card from your hand using foretell, not when you cast a foretold card from exile.
  • The reduction of the foretell cost applies only to generic mana in the foretell cost. It can’t reduce requirements of specific colors of mana. For example, if you foretell a card in your hand with mana cost {1}{G}{G}, its foretell cost will be {G}{G}.

Each nonland card in your hand without foretell has foretell. Its foretell cost is equal to its mana cost reduced by . (During your turn, you may pay and exile it from your hand face down. Cast it on a later turn for its foretell cost.) Whenever you foretell a card, this creature gets +2/+0 until end of turn.

  • Exiled cards are face up by default; they’re face down only if the effect that exiled them said so. For example, the cards from your library that Mirror of Fate exiles are exiled face up.
  • You choose the order that the chosen cards are put on top of your library. You don’t have to show anyone else that order.
  • You don’t choose the exiled cards until Mirror of Fate’s ability resolves. It doesn’t matter how they wound up in the exile zone.

  • As Panoptic Mirror's triggered ability resolves, it allows you to create a copy of one of the instant or sorcery cards imprinted on Panoptic Mirror in the Exile zone (that's where the imprinted card is) and then cast it without paying its mana cost.
  • Exiling a card when the activated ability resolves is optional. If you choose to exile a card, you can exile only a card with mana value equal to X.
  • The triggered ability triggers only once each upkeep, not once per imprinted card. If no cards are imprinted on Panoptic Mirror when the triggered ability resolves, it does nothing.
  • You don't pay the spell's mana cost. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0. You do pay any additional costs for that spell. You can't use any alternative costs.
  • You may imprint a card on Panoptic Mirror in response to the upkeep-triggered ability. If you do, that card is available to copy when the triggered ability resolves.
  • The creation of the copy and then the casting of the copy are both optional.
  • To imprint a split card, you pay X equal to card's mana value, determined by the combined mana cost of its two halves. If the copied card is a split card, you choose which one side of it to cast, but you can't cast both sides.

  • Any "enters" abilities of the exiled card will trigger when the token is put onto the battlefield. Any "as [this permanent] enters" or "[this permanent] enters with" abilities of the exiled card will also work.
  • If Prototype Portal has left the battlefield by the time its second ability resolves, you'll still put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of the exiled card. On the other hand, if Prototype Portal is still on the battlefield at this time but there is no exiled card (because, perhaps, Riftsweeper's ability caused the exiled card to be put into its owner's library), no token is created.
  • If the exiled card has {X} in its mana cost (such as Chalice of the Void), that X is considered to be 0. The {X} in Prototype Portal's activation cost takes this into account, though it may be greater than 0 if the exiled card has other mana symbols in its mana cost (such as Riptide Replicator).
  • You don't choose the value of {X}. Rather, the value of X is defined by the activated ability.
  • You may not activate the second ability if no card has been exiled with Prototype Portal. In that case, the value of {X} is undefined and can't be paid.

  • Any “When this creature is turned face up” abilities that the exiled card may have don’t trigger because the card isn’t being turned face up while it’s on the battlefield.
  • If the card is not a creature card when it’s turned face up, it remains exiled face up.
  • The card is imprinted face down. This means that other players don’t know what the card is and you can’t look at the card once it’s imprinted (until it’s turned face up, of course).
