    Rules

  • Emmara's ability is a triggered ability, not an activated ability. It doesn't allow you to tap Emmara whenever you want; rather, you need some other way of tapping it, such as by attacking.
  • For the ability to trigger, Emmara has to actually change from untapped to tapped. If an effect attempts to tap Emmara, but it was already tapped at the time, this ability won't trigger.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Flying Trample

    Rules

  • A creature has different power from another if their powers are different numbers. For example, a 1/1 creature and a 2/1 creature have different powers.
  • For three creatures to have different powers from one another, each of their powers needs to be different. A 1/1 creature, a 2/1 creature, and another 2/1 creature aren't three creatures with different powers, even though both 2/1 creatures have different power than the 1/1 creature.
  • Many coven abilities, such as that of Dawnhart Wardens above, are triggered abilities with intervening if clauses. You must control three or more creatures with different powers at the time the ability triggers and at the time the ability tries to resolve. They do not, however, need to be the same set of creatures in both cases.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Fight

    Rules

  • If Tolsimir is still on the battlefield when its enters-the-battlefield trigger resolves, its last ability will trigger as Voja is created.
  • If the Wolf that entered the battlefield is no longer on the battlefield as Tolsimir's last ability resolves, no creature deals or is dealt damage, but you do gain 3 life.
  • Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves has a different name than Tolsimir Wolfblood (from the Ravnica: City of Guilds™ set), and Voja, Friend to Elves has a different name than Voja, the token created by Tolsimir Wolfblood. Since the "legend rule" only cares about exact English names, this means you may control all four of these creatures at the same time.
  • You may put Tolsimir's last ability onto the stack without choosing any target. You'll just gain 3 life. However, if you do choose a target and the target permanent is an illegal target by the time Tolsimir's last ability tries to resolve, the ability doesn't resolve. You don't gain 3 life and no creature deals or is dealt damage.

    Abilities/Keywords

    Populate

    Rules

  • Trostani's first ability checks the creature's toughness as it resolves. If that creature has left the battlefield, use its toughness from when it was last on the battlefield. You can't lose life this way if that creature's toughness was less than 0.
  • Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied token will trigger when the new token enters the battlefield. Any "as [this creature] enters the battlefield" or "[this creature] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the copied token will also work.
  • If you choose to copy a creature token that's a copy of another creature, the new creature token will copy the characteristics of whatever the original token is copying.
  • If you control no creature tokens when you populate, nothing will happen.
  • Populate doesn't target the creature token you're copying. You choose that creature token as you're taking the populate action. You can choose any creature token you control. If a spell or ability causes you to create a creature token and then instructs you to populate, you may choose to copy the token you just created, or you may choose to copy another creature token you control.
  • The new creature token copies the characteristics of the original token as stated by the effect that created the original token.
  • The new token doesn't copy whether the original token is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any noncopy effects that have changed its power, toughness, color, and so on.
