"Find me cards equivalent to: Winds of Abandon"

Cards similar to Winds of Abandon (white, sorcery, exile/removal, can be mass removal):

  • Settle the Wreckage – Instant; exiles all attacking creatures, their controller searches for that many basic lands.
  • Mass Calcify – Sorcery; destroys all nonwhite creatures (not exile, but mass removal, same color).
  • Farewell – Sorcery; allows exile of all creatures, graveyards, artifacts, and/or enchantments.

None are exact, but all are white, sorcery-speed, and offer wide board impact or exile/removal. Winds of Abandon remains the only one with Overload exile for white.

  • Settle the Wreckage targets only the player. Creatures with hexproof that player controls will be exiled as this spell resolves.
  • That player can find fewer basic land cards than the number of exiled creatures, whether because they want to or because they don't have that many basic land cards left.
  • The number of lands that player may find is the number of attacking creatures that were exiled, even if some of those creatures were tokens, weren't creature cards, or didn't end up in exile (most likely because one was that player's commander in the Commander variant).

    Abilities/Keywords

    Overload

    Rules

  • If a creature is exiled but ends up in another zone, it's still a "creature exiled this way" for Winds of Abandon.
  • Because a spell with overload doesn't target when its overload cost is paid, it may affect permanents with hexproof or with protection from the appropriate color.
  • If you are instructed to cast a spell with overload "without paying its mana cost," you can't choose to pay its overload cost instead.
  • If you don't pay the overload cost of a spell with overload, that spell will have a single target. If you pay the overload cost, the spell won't have any targets.
  • To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as an overload cost), add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.

Exile target creature you don't control. For each creature exiled this way, its controller searches their library for a basic land card. Those players put those cards onto the battlefield tapped, thenshuffle Overload (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change "target" in its text to "each.")
